Spring in Lace

With Hailey's birthday coming up, Ellie decided  she needed  a new dress for the party.

So Ellie picked out a dark pink fabric and white lace. Her pattern  was a standard a line  dress, but she didn't  care for the fit and decided it could  use darts to give it more shape.  Then for just a hint of sparkle she added a silver ribbon accent.

Ellie finished off the look with white shoes a butterfly  necklace  and  a silver purse.

Now she's  all ready for the party.

Girly Baseball Tee

For spring, Zelia wanted to do her own take on a baseball shirt.

She picked out a cream knit and matching lace.  The front and back of the shirt were cut out of the knitting and the lace with the sleeves in just the knit.

For her pattern she used the Liberty Jane Baseball Tee downloaded from Pixie Faire.

The finished  look wasn't  as Girly as she was hoping  so sequins  were added to the lace.

To finish the look, the tee was paired with aqua jeans and tennis shoes.

Embroidered Minnie

To try out the #MinnieMouse embroidery design headed to a t-shirt for a birthday present, I put it on a red fat quarter.

After completing the t-shirt project, I came back to my red fabric and picked a style for the dress.  I didn't want Minnie to have to compete with a lot of other details, but still have a fun style.

In the end I went with a sleeveless, princess line, low-waisted bodice with a gather skirt.  The flounce of the gathered skirt provides the right balance of whimsy to the simplicity of the bodice.

Alicia jumped at the chance to model the look, well aware that the dress was headed to Kaylie.
