Fashionista in Blue

While shopping in the toy department during the holidays, I gave into the temptation to pick up a couple of the new Barbie Fashionistas for myself.

I added two of the curvier dolls and one of the tall dolls.

And so temptation drew me back to my design roots and working with Barbie again.

For my first look, I worked with a curvy brunette. I went for a look that was sleeveless  with pleats just in the center front.

Then to set the look off, added a gold and blue beded necklace.

Ellie's Style Lisle Dress

In designing the Lisle dress,  I was inspired by a dress in my own wardrobe. This dress was based on Simplicity 2886, but when making it I added a contrast band to the skirt.

The dress has an upper bodice with a scoop neck which gathers to the lower bodice.  The lower bodice is in a coordinating fabric.

The skirt is box pleated with a band of the coordinating fabric near the hem.  The side seams of the skirt have working pockets.

Currently the Lisle Dress is available for #Hearts4HeartsGirls,  but a Disney Todler size is in the works.
